Our programmers setup a system in this database driven website which allows people to fill out a form in order to apply for membership. Their info is then stored in the database waiting for approval by the website administrator. When someone fills out the other form on the site indicating that they want to relocate their business to South Florida then their info is also stored in the database. An email will automatically go out to the Board Members so that they can contact the business owner who is interested in relocation. Our website designers needed to setup a CMS or content management system in the back end which the site owners are able to enter text in four languages. Visitors to the website select the language from a drop down menu at the top of each page of the website. From within the admin the site owners can at any time click "Add New" and add a new language. The button with the name of the new language would instantly appear on the website and then they simply enter the text in the backend with the new language and it goes live as soon as they click "Save".
We are the only website designers The Miami Herald has ever trusted to make websites for them. All of the other websites they have were made by their own in-house programmers. Our programmers developed this database driven website for the subscriber loyalty department of The Miami Herald. Visitors to the website must be subscribers in order to login with their phone number and house number. Our website verifies that they are current subscribers and then allows or denies access. Once logged in they can print about 100 different savings coupons. From within the admin the site administrators are able to change the banner ads that appear to the right or add more coupons plus many other features. Coupons can easily be added and removed from the admin of the website. The website features coupons from restaurants and attractions in the Miami Dade and Fort Lauderdale areas. They are also able to add new pages by simply clicking the "Page Add" button. To see how this works please see the third video on the right. The admin of the website is also used to send out a monthly newsletter to thousands of subscribers. The newsletter is created each month by our company and offers discounts and savings on all types of restaurants, fast foods, attractions and retail shopping in the Miami-Dade and Broward - Fort Lauderdale areas. If the website administrator wants to they can use //fname// and the newsletter will contain the subscribers first name in the appropriate place.
Our client sells chocolates in North Miami Beach and he wanted to set a fixed price for local shipping but use different prices when people are outside of the local Miami Dade Fort Lauderdale area. This ecommerce website has another feature you don't often find on websites where products are sold online. If you want to buy holiday gifts for your friends most ecommerce websites make you buy one item, provide a shipping address, give your credit card info and then check out. If you wanted to buy more gifts you go through the entire process all over again and checkout and pay with your credit card each time. We knew that this would be a problem and a reason to keep people from using the website to buy multiple gifts going to multiple shipping addresses. Since we custom build our own shopping cart there is no problem here because we set it up in a way that you can assign a shipping address to each item and then checkout only once. A website is never just about the programming and development. It is also about the overall look and feel of the work our designers put into the project. Whenever we show this example to people they make comments about wanting to eat their monitor because the home page looks so delicious. That is music to our ears!
This is a website which not only sells caviar to people all around the United States. Bemka is one of the largest suppliers of caviar in the United States and they even supply caviar for many (about 75%) of the websites that you see selling caviar. From within the admin the site owners can change the prices, add or delete products and create coupon codes to offer discounts. They are also able to use CRM or Customer Relationship Management function of the website to contact people who signed up for their newsletter or anyone who made a purchase. The website separates buyers into wholesale and retail buyers so that e-mails can be generated that are targeting one group. When a restaurant owner receives an e-mail about a replenishing inventory it is much more targeted and more likely to be opened than a generic e-mail would be. There is also a place in the CMS - Content Management System where the site owner can enter retail and wholesale prices. People with a password are able to view the exact same website but all the prices shown will be wholesale. This website had one other unique feature; it pays attention to the day of the week and the time. Every caviar order must be shipped next day air so our website makes note of the day of the week and time of day. If your order is placed after 4:00pm on Friday and before Monday then the site will ask you if you agree to have your order shipped on Monday to arrive Tuesday. The top of the website has an animation created by one of our talented designers using Adobe Flash. The animation scrolls across the page and if you click on one of the pictures then it brings you to the page featuring those products.
This website was made for Carroll's Jewelers located on Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Our programmers setup a system in which the website owner can enter coupon codes. This is good not only for promotions but for tracking results. For example they could make a coupon code called "Fort Lauderdale" and run a newspaper ad in the Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentinel. In the ad they might say "Save 20% on our watches by entering coupon code Fort Lauderdale when you are checking out. Then they would know that anyone using that Fort Lauderdale code MUST have seen the advertisement in the Sun Sentinel. There is no limit to the number of coupon codes that can be active at any given time. In addition to having an easy to operate admin where new products can be added and prices can be changed we have one more unique feature. We created a gift registry so that brides and grooms can create an account and other people can search the account. For us it is all in a days work (OK seriously it took more than a day) but for the two previous website designers Carroll's hired they wasted time and money with people who couldn't get the gift registry to work properly. After two years of trying to save money by hiring two other inexpensive they came back to us to have it done properly. For the website visitors one feature they like is the way you simply roll over the pictures and a larger photo will appear. Our programmers set this up using a relatively new type of programming called Ajax.
Our website designers and programmers had entered a whole new world when they had to learn about how other websites run contests. On this website you can enter a contest for the hottest band, hottest stripper and so on. We checked out a lot of other websites first to see how other contest sites were setup, what features they had and what features we felt were lacking. This social network website is making use of internet marketing, web 2.0 marketing, live events and blogs to promote the business. Members can vote for their favorite band or download songs (for a small fee) or enter a contest. The website calculates votes in the contests and allows people to "put their money where their mouth is" by counting music downloads for $1.00 each as five votes for that band. Members can also buy tickets to live events which will also be broadcast live to the website. So it is somewhat like pay per view events only it is on the Internet instead of TV. Membership is free (click the picture above to join) but some categories require a paid membership. Just like all of our clients, they are business owners not programmers or website designers so they need to have an admin where they can login and make changes to their website without it being complicated. We design website admins that are so simple that if an employee has the mental capacity to drive a car to work they have all the brainpower required to add new pages, setup new contests and run all the functions of the website.

You can include the clients first name, last name and company name. How this works is that you would use a simple code in the email such as "Hi //fname// we thought this newsletter would be of interest to //companyname//". When the person receives this email they will see that it is addressed to them personally from the website administrators email address to the recipients address. They will see that they are being greeted by their first name and that the newsletter contains their company name. The best part of our Customer Relationship Management system is that it is fully automated so that you could setup e-mails in advance and have them go out on a pre-determined schedule. For example if someone buys something today then you could have e-mail number one go out. Then in x days you have e-mail number 2 go out and so on. There is no limit on how many follow up e-mails can be scheduled to go out. We have seen programs online where you would pay a monthly fee and give your database to some online site and from there you send out emails to your database. We get this type of spam all the time from small business owners. The problem we see is that you spend your time setting this up, you give your database of contacts over to a third party and if you stop paying the monthly fee everything you've setup is gone. What's worse is that the bottom of all those emails contains an advertisement for the third party company that you are using to send the emails. You would never see any big business use a system like this. Think BIG use our system and you are only advertising YOUR products and services and NOT advertising the services of some third party email spamming company.
